Rubicon Systems Limited was incorporated in 1988 to provide custom software solutions to a variety of customer requirements. Software design and development services are available in the areas of Auto ID, Computer Graphics, Engineering and Database Applications.

Rubicon has many industrial, commercial and educational customers using systems designed and implemented in-house.

Management information systems in education and training environments formed a major part of the early business. In 1989 OLAF was launched, this is a system for assisting in the administration of Open Learning Centres. OLAF uses barcode technology to capture attendance and resource use information.

Custom development work for Education has been in the areas of college administration and enrolment systems. Other Industrial and Commercial projects include Barcode applications for the customised printing of barcode labels, production tracking and warehouse management systems.

Applications can be implemented in a range of languages and operating systems. Training and technical support is offered with all systems commissioned. Consultancy can be offered at various levels including system design and integration.

Recent projects have included Internet and Web based work, Web site design, software for building web sites and publishing database information on the Web.
